Brookline, MA

Body Contouring for Brookline Patients

Brookline sits about four miles from our Cambridge office, and for most patients the practical route is the Green Line to Park Street and across to the Red Line, roughly twenty minutes door to door from Coolidge Corner. Driving is usually faster outside rush hour: Beacon Street to Storrow, or straight up Harvard Street through Allston.

Brookline is unusually well supplied with aesthetics providers. Coolidge Corner and Brookline Village both have med spas offering body treatments, and for a lot of people the honest question is not "EMSculpt NEO or nothing" but "why travel to Cambridge when there is something ten minutes closer." The answer we would give is narrow and specific: this is a physician-run practice. Dr. Bromberg examines you before a protocol is written, and treatment is adjusted against your medical history rather than sold as a fixed package. If a condition is better served by something we do not offer, we will tell you that at the consultation.

The two treatments available here are EMSculpt NEO, which combines radiofrequency fat reduction with HIFEM muscle building, and Emsella, which targets the pelvic floor. Both are non-invasive, require no anesthesia and no recovery time, and both are FDA-cleared. Neither is a weight-loss programme, and neither is surgery.

The standard EMSculpt NEO protocol is four sessions per treatment area, scheduled about a week apart, at roughly thirty minutes each. Emsella is six sessions of twenty-eight minutes, usually twice a week over three weeks. From Brookline that is a ten to fifteen minute drive or a twenty minute transit trip, and because there is no downtime you can come at lunch and go back to work. Most patients schedule consecutive weeks rather than spreading sessions out.

Fat reduction develops gradually because your body clears the destroyed fat cells over roughly eight to twelve weeks. It is not visible the next morning. Muscle change tends to be felt before it is seen, often within two or three sessions. In clinical studies the average outcomes after a standard protocol were about a thirty percent reduction in subcutaneous fat and about a twenty-five percent increase in muscle mass in the treated area. Individual results vary, and a consultation is where you find out what is realistic for your body rather than an average.

Watertown, MA

Body Contouring and Core Recovery for Watertown

Watertown is one of the closest communities we serve, about four miles, and a straight run east on Mt. Auburn Street or Arsenal Street puts you at 201 Broadway in roughly ten minutes. The 71 bus to Harvard Square connects to the Red Line if you would rather not drive, and there is street parking on Broadway plus the Green Street Garage a block away.

A large share of what Watertown patients come in for is core-related rather than purely cosmetic: abdominal separation after pregnancy, a core that stopped holding up the way it used to, a midsection that has not responded to training. That distinction shapes the conversation. Diastasis recti in particular is a structural problem, the left and right halves of the rectus abdominis separated along the linea alba, and it is one of the cases where conventional core work can make matters worse by driving intra-abdominal pressure without re-engaging the deep transversus.

EMSculpt NEO approaches it from the other direction. The HIFEM component contracts the abdominal wall at intensities voluntary effort cannot reach, which pulls the separated muscle bellies back toward the midline; published research measured an average nineteen percent reduction in the gap. The radiofrequency component addresses the fat layer sitting over the top of it. Whether you are a candidate depends on how wide the separation is, how long it has been there, and whether there is a hernia involved, which is exactly what an examination is for.

In practice the two terms get used interchangeably in marketing, which is not especially helpful when you are trying to compare providers. What actually matters is the mechanism. Some treatments only remove fat. Some only build muscle. EMSculpt NEO does both in the same session, radiofrequency raises fat tissue to the point of cell breakdown while HIFEM drives the underlying muscle through supramaximal contractions. When you are comparing options in the Watertown area, ask which of those two things a given device actually does, rather than which word the clinic uses for it.

A rough self-check: lie on your back with knees bent, lift your head slightly, and press your fingertips flat just above and below the navel. If you can sink two or more finger-widths into a gap between the muscle bands, that is likely a separation. It is a starting point, not a diagnosis. Clinical studies of EMSculpt NEO measured an average nineteen percent reduction in separation width over a standard protocol. Good candidates are generally at least three to six months postpartum, cleared by their own physician, with no active hernia at the site. Dr. Bromberg examines the area before any protocol is written.

Body contouring is considered elective and is not covered by insurance. Emsella for incontinence is also generally not covered, though it is worth asking your carrier directly since pelvic floor treatment is sometimes handled differently from purely cosmetic procedures. We will give you clear pricing at the consultation, and the consultation itself is free. You are not committing to anything by coming in to find out whether you are a candidate.

Boston, MA

EMSculpt NEO and Emsella for Boston Patients

From most of Boston proper the Red Line is the simplest way to reach us, Kendall/MIT is three stops from Downtown Crossing, and our office at 201 Broadway is a three-minute walk from the station. Back Bay, Beacon Hill, the South End, Fenway and the Seaport are all inside about a twenty-minute trip. Driving over the Longfellow or the BU Bridge works outside rush hour, and there is street parking on Broadway plus the Green Street Garage.

Boston has no shortage of aesthetics providers, and a fair number of them run the same device. What differs is who is standing behind it. This is a chiropractic and physical medicine practice, not a spa that added a machine, Dr. Bromberg has been in clinical practice for over forty years, and treatment planning starts from your history and an examination rather than from a package you selected online.

That framing matters most for the cases that are not cosmetic at all. Postpartum abdominal separation, a pelvic floor that stopped doing its job, core weakness after a long period of inactivity or injury, these are functional problems that happen to have an aesthetic component, and they are better handled by someone who is looking at the whole picture.

Yes, EMSculpt NEO holds FDA clearance for fat reduction and muscle strengthening in specific treatment areas, and Emsella is FDA-cleared for urinary incontinence. The main safety considerations are contraindications rather than side effects: metal implants or electronic devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators in or near the treatment area rule the treatment out, as does pregnancy. The most common after-effect is muscle soreness similar to an intense workout. Screening for contraindications is part of the consultation.

Realistically, yes. An EMSculpt NEO session is about thirty minutes for one area and Emsella is twenty-eight minutes, both with zero downtime, you stay fully clothed for Emsella, and you can drive, work out or go straight back to the office afterwards. Adding the Red Line trip from downtown, a session fits inside a standard lunch hour with a little room to spare.

It is free, and it is a conversation rather than a sales appointment. Dr. Bromberg's team goes through your medical history, examines the area you are concerned about, screens for contraindications, and tells you whether you are a reasonable candidate. If you are not, or if what you actually need is something we do not offer, you will hear that. You leave with a straight answer about what is realistic, and no obligation to book anything.
